Mevagissey Male Choir was founded in 1974 in Percy Mitchell's boatyard in Portmellon. Fifty years on there are around 40 of us, aged 16 to 86, including two founder members who still sing in concerts. The mission hasn't changed: to entertain, and to raise money for good causes.
The repertoire is as broad as it is ambitious, from Bizet and Puccini to Robbie Williams and Freddie Mercury, from favourite musicals to rousing sea shanties, always rooted in the rich tradition of Cornish song.
